VIDEO: A woman has died, and two children are hospitalized in critical condition after a fire tore through at least two rowhomes in Philadelphia’s Mayfair neighborhood on Wednesday morning, officials said. At about 6:05 a.m. Philadelphia fire officials put out an alert on social media warning drivers to avoid the area of Stirling and Hawthorne streets on Wednesday morning as crews worked to extinguish the fire. In a morning update, Deputy Fire Department Commissioner Carl Randolph said one adult was found dead — though he provided no further information on this individual’s identity — inside one of the rowhomes by first responders and two children were taken to the hospital after being rescued from the flames. Police said the adult that was found dead at the home was a woman and she was pronounced at the scene at about 6:59 a.m.
