A fire department based out of Lancaster County has launched a multi-million-dollar fundraising campaign to construct a new firehouse. According to Blue Rock Fire Rescue, they recently launched a fundraising campaign to raise $10 million for a new state-of-the-art firehouse, which they say will help them better serve Manor Township and Millersville Borough. The new Blue Rock Fire Rescue facility would replace aging stations in Highville and Washington Borough. The new station would improve emergency response times and provide modern training and living spaces for the more than 100 volunteer firefighters. โThis isnโt just about bricks and mortarโitโs about ensuring our volunteers have the resources to keep our neighbors safe for generations to come,โ Fire Commissioner Duane Hagelgans said. Blue Rock Fire Rescue says their volunteers respond to more than 700 calls annually across 55 square miles, which includes six miles along the Susquehanna River.
