VIDEO: A massive fire ripped through a historic building in Woodward early Sunday morning.
The fire drew crews from across multiple counties as flames shot through the roof, leaving the Woodward Inn a total loss. The building is part of the National Register of Historic Places.
According to Millheim Fire Chief Delmer Homan, firefighters arrived to find heavy flames spreading rapidly through the rear of the building. The blaze was quickly upgraded to a third alarm due to the buildingโs size and the need for additional manpower and water. Departments from Centre, Union and Clinton counties responded to help battle the fire.
While no injuries were reported, one firefighter fell through the floor during the response but was later confirmed to be OK. The Pennsylvania State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
