VIDEO/PHOTOS: Susquehanna County emergency crews responded to a devastating fire on I-81 southbound.
On Oct. 13, an electrical failure led to a fire in the cab of a Rescue Engine from the Harford Volunteer Fire Company.
The driver was able to pull over on the shoulder and exited the truck safely.
According to crews, the fire engulfed the cab of the vehicle in less than three minutes. Firefighters attempted to save as much equipment as possible, but the truck was deemed a total loss.
The Columbia Hose Company, Hallstead Fire Company and Great Bend Hose Company responded to the scene.
According to the department, although the vehicle was insured, it will not be enough to cover the cost of a new truck and equipment.
The Harford Fire Company is seeking community support in the weeks ahead.
