Jackson County District 3 responded to a vegetation fire at 3939 Willow Springs Road in Central Point Saturday. Units quickly arrived on scene and extinguished the fire within a matter of minutes. According to Battalion Chief TJ Lockwood, the fire was caused by a welding of metal fence post. It burned approximately a quarter of an acre. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not pose a threat to the public.
