Firefighters respond and extinguish two fires in Josephine County

VIDEO: Firefighters in Josephine County had a busy night Monday, responding to two separate fires within hours of each other. Just before 7 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Daisy Mine Road in Sunny Valley after reports of smoke coming from an attic. Firefighters pulled down ceiling material to reach and extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported, and investigators believe a flue pipe may have caused the blaze.

While crews were still on scene, another call came in for a fire burning on Spencer Creek Road in Murphy. Firefighters arrived to find flames at the base of a large snag tree on a hillside near a popular target shooting area. They quickly contained and extinguished the fire before it could spread. Officials reminded residents to check heating systems and use caution with outdoor activities as cooler weather increases fire risks.
