On Tuesday November 18, at approximately 7:10 a.m., Eugene Springfield Fire Engine 6, which runs out of the Willakenzie Station, came across a vehicle fire on westbound Beltline while on the way to a medical call.
The involved vehicle was stopped outside of the lanes of travel but traffic was impacted by crews working on the vehicle. A battalion chief and a water tender were tapped out as well.
The Engine 6 crew rapidly had the fire extinguished and there were no injuries. “During incidents along the lanes of travel, please remember to slow down and move as far over as you can to provide a safe area for our crews to work,” officials said.
