VIDEO: One dog has died and another was rushed to an emergency vet after an apartment fire in Gresham early Monday morning. At about 3:10 a.m., Gresham Fire crews responded to a fire in the 2700 block of West Powell Boulevard. Crews arrived to the scene and found fire in one apartment unit on the second floor. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to one unit. However, there is likely smoke damage to several surrounding units. Three people were displaced and are being helped out by Red Cross. Officials say two dogs were found inside the affected apartment. One was resuscitated and rushed to an emergency vet, but sadly the other dog did not survive. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
