Fire almost causes Spencer home to collapse, firefighters say

Firefighters put out flames that were seen coming from the roof of a home in Spencer Friday. The fire started around 2 a.m. at a home near Northeast 36th Street and North Post Road. Authorities told KOCO 5 that someone inside the home woke up to heavy smoke and flames.

The fire nearly caused the home to collapse, according to firefighters. Authorities said the home had no working smoke alarms. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials believe it may have been an electrical issue.
