Authorities say a 13-year-old boy was taken to an area hospital on Tuesday after an incident at the Mitch Park YMCA in Edmond. Fire department officials told KOCO 5 that they responded to a drowning call at the YMCA near Covell Road and Santa Fe Avenue. Bystanders performed CPR on the teenager, and officials said he had a pulse and was breathing when firefighters arrived. The 13-year-old’s family took him to the hospital as a precaution. Edmond Fire Department officials said they are unsure if the boy nearly drowned or if he suffered a medical episode.
