People, dogs trapped in high water rescued by Cincinnati firefighters

VIDEO: Two people and two dogs are safe after being rescued from high water Wednesday in Oakley. A little after 7:45 p.m., a call came into the Cincinnati Fire Communications Center saying the people and dogs were trapped in high, fast-moving water along Duck Creek on Rosslyn Drive, according to the Cincinnati Fire Department.

Thirty-six firefighters responded to the call with water rescue equipment. The victims were found under a bridge, clinging to a concrete wall, the fire department explained. Firefighters used personal flotation devices, ropes and ladders to get the people and dogs to safety, CFD said. The rescue took about 20 minutes and no injuries were reported, the fire department added.
