Middletown Division of Fire recognized for helping heart attack, stroke patients

The Middletown Division of Fire has received the American Heart Associationโ€™s Mission: Lifeline EMS GOLD achievement award for its work helping patients of heart attack and strokes.

The award focuses on the departmentโ€™s on-scene care efforts, including collaborations between first responders.

Mission: Lifeline EMS is the American Heart Association’s national initiative to advance the system of care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive emergencies.

โ€œThe Middletown Fire Department is honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our dedication to providing optimal care for heart attack patients,โ€ EMS lieutenant Ryan Pennekamp said. โ€œThe Mission: Lifeline program puts proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis, so patients have the best possible chance of survival.โ€

The Middletown Division of Fire was also recognized with the American Heart Associationโ€™s Mission: Lifeline System of Care Target Heart Attack award.
