VIDEOS: Fire crews in the Turtle Mountains have had their hands full battling a series of fires. A post on the Belcourt Rural Fire Department Facebook page Saturday said theyโve been dealing with at least four different fires in the area that have gotten out of hand, and threatened multiple homes.
According to the Governorโs Office, last night they had four ND Forest Service fire engines and four engines from the Wildland Task Force (Kindred, Bismarck Rural, Burlington and Devils Lake Rural) that responded.
Bismarck Rural FD was released quickly as they had been on the Three Affiliated Tribes fires earlier. For air assets, they had two NDNG Black Hawks on standby and approved to launch but they were called off at the last moment as the Bureau of Indian Affairs was able to provide two Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs) instead.
