Oil terminal catches fire near Tioga

Crews responded to a fire at an oil terminal south of Tioga Wednesday morning. Tioga Fire Chief Rick Farrow said they were called just after 7 a.m. for a report of a fire at the site, and much of the fire was put out shortly after crews arrived on scene.

Farrow said no one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is unknown. He said the fire was completely out by around 10 a.m. Farrow said the site has since been turned over to the owners but is shut down. Tioga city and rural firefighters responded, and the Rural Fire Chief Jim McGinnity said Texon operates the site.
