Harwood fire chief warns drivers after near-miss incident with firefighters, trooper

The Harwood fire chief is warning drivers to stay off roads after dash cam footage captured a near-miss incident involving two firefighters and a North Dakota State Trooper on Tuesday.

โ€œTwo of my firefighters and a North Dakota State Trooper were almost taken out by an irresponsible driver,โ€ the fire chief said in a statement on Facebook. โ€œTwo of my firefighters almost did not make it home and NDHP almost lost a vehicle because of someone not driving for the conditions.โ€

The incident was captured on dash cam footage from a Harwood Fire/Rescue apparatus, according to the chief. The fire chief said the incident highlights the importance of driving safely in dangerous conditions. โ€œThe moral of the story is, slow down and pay attention or donโ€™t travel,โ€ the chief said.
