Enderlin firefighter volunteers to help neighbors after tornado ruins home

VIDEO: Itโ€™s been nothing but trying to piece back together whatโ€™s been damaged in Enderlin. Kyle Geske, an Enderlin firefighter, has volunteered to help out neighbors since tornadoes have caused destruction to several homes in the area. โ€œIโ€™m helping out the neighbors that lost everything they had. My sisterโ€™s house was hit and weโ€™ve got to go out there as well. This one is worse so weโ€™re starting here first,โ€ said Geske.

Kyle looks at it as itโ€™s the least he can do, but heโ€™s still trying to fathom what has happened around him. โ€œIt hasnโ€™t really hit yet. Itโ€™s all real fresh. Thereโ€™s a lot going through your mind. Youโ€™re just trying to make sure everybody is okay,โ€ said Geske. As he sees other homes that have been damaged by the tornadoes, he comes out of the experience grateful.

What stood out to Geske when looking at the debris was how fast life can change when a tornado wrecks a personโ€™s home. โ€œThings can flash before you in the blink of an eye,โ€ said Geske. Geskeโ€™s house was not affected, unlike his sisterโ€™s house and his neighbors. When he looked around at the damage at his neighborโ€™s house, he felt the need to immediately help.
