New Hanover County fire crews extinguished a house fire on Tuesday, August 12. The Wilmington Fire Department assisted New Hanover County Fire Rescue in putting out the fire in the 200 block of Albemarle Road. The fire was reported shortly before noon. Battalion Chief Mike Stophel told our crew on the scene that one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. New Hanover County officials confirmed to WECT that two dogs died in the fire. The cause of the fire is undetermined and is currently under investigation by the county fire marshal.
