Jeremy Anderson sworn in as Greenville’s new fire chief

VIDEO: Jeremy Anderson has been sworn in as the new Fire/Rescue chief of Greenville.

Anderson has been with the cityโ€™s Fire/Rescue department since 2006 and most recently served as Battalion Chief.

โ€œExcited for the department, excited for the city,โ€ said Anderson. โ€œWeโ€™ve got a lot of positive things going on. Itโ€™s not just about me, itโ€™s about everyone that works here and the city at large.โ€

During the swearing-in ceremony, Anderson announced the implementation of a new 24/72 work schedule, making Greenville the first department of its size in the state to do so.

The new schedule is expected to help the department recruit and retain good firefighters.

โ€œItโ€™s a game changerโ€ according to Anderson.
