Emergency crews are currently investigating what led to a house and chicken coop fire early Friday morning in the rain in Franklin County, officials said. According to a spokesperson from Franklin County Emergency Management, multiple fire departments in the county rushed to the call of a structure fire around 1:50 a.m. on Castlebury Lane. Upon arrival, crews saw a house fully engulfed in flames, prompting more assistance from other units. A total of 15 emergency response vehicles were on the scene to get the fire under control, including the Franklinton Volunteer Fire Department, Brassfield Fire Department and Youngsville Fire Department.
