‘Heroic efforts’: Neighbors save woman from house fire in Graham, fire department says

PHOTOS: A woman was saved from a house fire Saturday morning thanks to the quick thinking of her neighbors, according to the Graham Fire Department.

Around 6:30 a.m., Graham firefighters responded to a house fire on Williamsdale Road. Two young men in the neighborhood spotted the fire and alerted the woman inside, allowing her to escape the fire safely.

โ€œThere is no doubt their heroic efforts saved a life this morning,โ€ the GFD said in a Facebook post.

Graham Fire was assisted on scene by Graham Police, Burlington-Graham Emergency Communications Center, Haw River FD, Swepsonville FD, Burlington FD, Mebane FD, EM Holt FD and Alamance County EMS. Elon FD provided coverage for the city during the fire.

The fire was declared under control at 7:37 a.m., with crews remaining on scene until 11:57 a.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
