VIDEO: The excessive heat is bringing an uptick in heat-related calls for the Guilford County Emergency Services. FOX8 met up with Scott Muthersbaugh with Guilford County EMS on Tuesday. Within minutes, EMS was already on a heat-related call. โThat gentleman was outside working and started to feel overheated and got close to the point of feeling like he was going to potentially pass out. Some of his co-workers did exactly the right thing and said, โHey, letโs all take a break,โ Muthersbaugh said. By 2:30 p.m., things really started to pick up.ย FOX8 rode along on a heat-related call. โA gentleman was out and started to feel overheated, so he went inside, and our crew went out to evaluate him. While weโre on the south side of town and working on going to this one, thereโs actually another heat-related call that just dropped on the north side of town, where someone was on a trail and started to feel hot, too. Weโre definitely starting to see that trend upwards,โ Muthersbaugh said.
