A large fire caused major damage to a home in north Raleigh Saturday night, officials said. The fire was reported just after 10:15 p.m. at a home in the 7800 block of Harbor Drive, which is off Sawmill Road, a few blocks east of U.S. 50/Creedmoor Road, according to Raleigh Fire Department Division Chief Robert Hodge. A firefighter suffered a sprained ankle while battling the fire but was treated at the scene, Hodge said. No one else was injured. Three people who live in the house were displaced by the fire, which started in a boat in the rear of the home and then went into the attic. A cat was rescued from the home and was put on oxygen at the scene late Saturday night, Hodge said. The owner was trying to arrange for emergency veterinary treatment for the cat. A second alarm was sent out for extra fire units to fight the blaze, but that was soon canceled.
