VIDEO: New York State Police were called to a vehicle fire on Interstate 81 northbound in the Town of Cicero on Wednesday, June 11.ย When police arrived at 3:24 p.m., troopers said they talked to a male driver from Wayne, New York. The driver said that he was driving a 2022 Ford Ranger with a car trailer for Carriers Cars.ย He also said that while driving to a car auction site on Route 31, he saw orange flames in his rearview mirror.ย He immediately pulled over and attempted to put the fire out with his fire extinguisher, but was unable to do so.ย The North Syracuse Fire Department responded to put out the fire.ย The car has been removed, and units are clear of the scene.
