Rochester ambulance organization celebrates 50 years of service to community

VIDEO: Monroe Ambulance celebrated 50 years of service on Saturday, with an event to bring community members and first responders together to reflect on the impact they have had on the community.

The EMS organization was founded in 1975 by Eileen Coyle. It began with only 3 emergency response vehicles and 15 employees, and has since expanded to serve Monroe and Franklin Counties with the help of over 200 employees and 35 vehicles.

50 years later, the organization remains a family-owned service with Coyleโ€™s sons. Thomas C. Coyle is the President and CEO, and Timothy Coyle is the Vice President.

โ€œReaching 50 years of service is both a proud and humbling achievement. What began with my motherโ€™s determination to serve her community in 1975 has grown into a team of dedicated professionals providing care across the region,โ€ Thomas said in a statement.
