Rensselaer apartment building fire under investigation

VIDEO: A fire at a Rensselaer apartment complex is under investigation. The fire broke out around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Glen Street. When firefighters arrived, they said they saw heavy smoke on the first floor and found a person sitting on the stoop of the complex. That person was taken to Albany Medical Center. A second alarm was called in, along with mutual aid from Defreestville, Clinton Heights and East Greenbush, according to Fire Chief William Brooking, Jr. Crews worked fast to put out the flames. They had everything under control in about 20 to 30 minutes, according to the fire chief. Investigators are looking into a cause.
