Driver rescued after crashing into garbage truck in Cortland

PHOTOS: The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car crash around 8:40 a.m. on New York State Route 281 on Wednesday, April 16. A car hit the back of a garbage truck, and the driver was trapped inside. Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters helped rescue the driver of a car that crashed into a garbage truck. The driver was then taken to Upstate Hospital for care. The City of Cortland Fire Department, New York State Police, TLC Ambulance, and other agencies assisted the Cortland County Sheriffโ€™s Office at the scene.
