Home heavily damaged in Nashua fire, multiple residents displaced

A multi-family home in Nashua was heavily damaged in a fire overnight, but everyone inside was able to escape safely. Nashua fire officials said they responded to reported building fire at 6 Fossa Avenue around 12:12 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, firefighters saw heavy fire showing from the back of the 2 1/2-story building. The fire was in the rear porch area, extending to the roof.

Firefighters began battling the fire, while also searching the building to make sure all occupants were out. Everyone who lived inside, including pets, was safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The building sustained extensive fire, smoke and water damage, fire officials said, and is uninhabitable. The American Red Cross is working with the residents to help them find temporary housing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
