Dozens of vehicles destroyed after fire at Candia salvage yard, authorities say

Dozens of vehicles were destroyed after a fire at a New Hampshire salvage yard Saturday morning, authorities say.

The Candia Fire Department said around 6:30 a.m., they responded to 134 Raymond Road for a vehicle fire. When firefighters got there, they found several vehicles, reported as 10, involved with heavy fire, authorities said.

47 vehicles were involved, 28 were a total loss, the fire department said. 15,000 gallons of water and 17 firefighters from Candia and surrounding communities helped extinguish the fire.

The vehicles were close together, which likely led the fire spreading to so many vehicles, the fire department said.

The fire was at a vehicle salvage yard where there are several thousand vehicles, the fire department said.

This happened at Copart, which according to their website specializes in reselling used, salvage title, and wholesale vehicles. Their website says they cater to salvage buyers, dealers, individual consumers, dismantlers, and body shops.
