Rescue teams brave severe winds to save stranded individuals at Pyramid Lake

PHOTOS: On Thursday night, the Washoe County Sheriffโ€™s Office Search and Rescue Team was called upon by the Pyramid Lake Police Department to assist in multiple water rescues. Severe winds had left several individuals, including juveniles on rafts, kayakers, swimmers, jet skiers, and a disabled boat, stranded and unable to return to shore. The WCSO SAR deployed Marine 10 and Marine 20, along with Specialized Vehicle Unit operators and Hasty Team rescue swimmers, who navigated high winds and rough waves to bring everyone safely back to land.
