Pahrump man reunites with first responders who saved his life

VIDEO: Nearly three years after a harrowing incident, Gregory “Keith” Herl reunited with the first responders who saved his life on Monday. Herl was driving home with his family when a stranger began shooting at his car, forcing him off the road. Despite suffering multiple gunshot wounds, Herl survived the attack. First responders quickly transported Herl to the Mercy Air 21 Base in Pahrump, where he was airlifted to University Medical Center.

โ€œWe got him ready for transport, then it takes us about 20 minutes to get to UMC trauma in Las Vegas,โ€ said Mercy Air Flight Nurse Beth Kueneman. โ€œWe are very lucky that he is here with us today and we appreciate that we are able to come together with the family to share in the joy that he is still here.โ€

In a heartfelt reunion, Herl and his family met with the flight crew and first responders, expressing their gratitude for their life-saving efforts. โ€œFrom the time the Sheriffโ€™s department showed up and apprehended the guy, the fire department took me to the helicopter, and these guys [Mercy Air] flew me to UMC, it went just like clockwork,โ€ said Herl. โ€œIf it hadnโ€™t, I wouldnโ€™t be standing up here today. I want to thank each and every one of you because each of you is a hero.โ€
