A fence fire that spread to the wildland in the 3000 block of Fairway Court has been contained, according to Sparks Fire officials. The blaze, which burned approximately 0.2 acres, prompted a response from two engines, three brush trucks, a battalion chief, and a safety officer. Officials confirmed that forward progress of the fire has been stopped and no injuries have been reported. Sparks Fire issued a reminder to residents about the dangers of using propane torches for weed removal, stating that it is both illegal and highly dangerous.
