One person taken to hospital after fire at east Lincoln apartment complex

Firefighters were called to a fire at an east Lincoln apartment complex on R Street, the Argosy Apartments, on Sunday. LFR responded to the fire just shortly after 3 p.m. upgrading the situation to full alarm fire due to the amount of smoke on the second floor. All residents were evacuated but have since been let back in.

According to LFR, they believe a dryer caught fire. LFR said a man attempted to put the fire out, and was transported to a local hospital. LFR said the fire caused some damage to the dryer and walls of the room. The fire was put out in about five minutes. LFR is estimating the damage at no more than $5,000. This incident is still under investigation. No citations have been given as of Sunday night.
