North Omaha house fire kills multiple animals

Multiple animals are dead after Omaha Fire and Rescue extinguished a house fire Sunday afternoon. Authorities arrived near North 60th and Spaulding Street around 2:20 p.m. Crews extinguished the house fire quickly, and no human injuries were reported.

Several animals were found inside. One guinea pig, one turtle, two cats, and two dogs were found dead. An additional two cats and two dogs were found alive and received treatment. The house fire did an estimated damage of $83,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
