VIDEOS: House total loss, two firefighters suffer minor injuries after multi-alarm fire in New Hampshire

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a multi-alarm fire in Loudon Saturday, officials said. The Loudon fire chief said the homeowner called 911 and said a fire in his wood stove became a chimney fire. It then spread to the rest of the home.

The sole occupant of the home on Currier Road was able to get out without any injuries, officials said. Officials rang a third alarm in order to get mutual aid to the scene, as the nearest water supply in the neighborhood was a half-mile away from the home.

According to the fire chief, the home was on a narrow dirt road, which made getting fire trucks to the scene difficult. “We delivered somewhere around 200,000 gallons of water. It was work to keep that water flowing once we got it going,” said Loudon fire Chief Thomas Blanchette. The chief told News 9 that the home and an attached wood shed are a total loss.
