PHOTOS: Several residents were forced to evacuate Sunday night after a two-alarm fire broke out at a Northeast Side apartment complex. The blaze started around 10:30 p.m. at the Iron Horse Valley Apartments off Northeast Loop 410 and Starcrest Drive, with flames seen pouring from the third floor of the building. More than 100 firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire. In total, 12 units were affected. Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 35 minutes. Fortunately, all residents made it out safely, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters say the intense heat and rapid spread of the flames contributed to the decision to call a second alarm. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
