VIDEOS: Evacuation order issued in Colorado due to large fire at shopping center, sheriff’s substation

An evacuation order has been issued in Boulder County as crews battle a fire at a shopping center in Nederland. The Caribou Village Shopping Center is also home to a substation for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy first reported the fire around 3:40 a.m. on Thursday a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said. It has two floors and houses roughly 15 to 20 businesses. According to the sheriff’s office most of them were impacted in one way or another, including the substation.

“The real estate opportunities for business are extremely limited. The livelihood of people is just gone. The rug has been pulled underneath us,” said Angie Seavers, an employee at Tadasana Mountain Yoga. “There no where for these businesses to go. We don’t know what we are going to do. We have no idea.” As a precaution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order due to the fire.
