Emergency responders and law enforcement stopped a stolen ambulance with spike strips in the St. James area, according to a news release from Phelps Health. An individual unlawfully entered a Phelps Health ambulance on the hospital campus in Rolla Thursday and drove the vehicle eastbound on Interstate 44, according to the news release.
No injuries were reported to the suspect, the public or any emergency personnel, according to the news release. Phelps Health said there was no damage to public property. Phelps Health said it is cooperating with local law enforcement in the investigation and is committed to providing a safe environment for its patients, staff and community.
