Two firefighters injured while putting out business fire in Jackson

Two Jackson Fire Department firefighters were injured while putting out a business fire Monday morning. According to Chief Fire Investigator Charles Felton, the blaze occurred around 4:43 a.m. at a business located on 1305 Ellis Avenue. Felton said that during the fire suppression, two firefighters sustained first-degree burns and were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The firefighters are expected to make a full recovery. Felton said the fire started by โ€œincendiary human involvement,โ€ and that it is believed to be arson.
