Fire academy awarded thousands to support training

The Mississippi State Fire Academy (MSFA) has been awarded thousands in grant money. The academy has been awarded $429,565.21 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The MSFA says the grant helps meet the needs of fire departments, nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations and state training facilities. The grant will be used to purchase a multipurpose training package.
