VIDEO: One person was displaced after an RV fire early Wednesday morning in Duluth. According to a representative from the city, the Duluth Fire Department responded to the call of a structure fire in the alley of the 400 block of E Eighth Street.
Crews found an RV fully engulfed. The fire also spread to power lines, nearby, and caused some exterior damage to a nearby structure.
โOne person was sleeping inside the RV at the time and was transported to an area hospital for
evaluation for smoke inhalation,โ explained a representative from the city. โThat person was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.โ
No additional injuries were reported. Officials state that the damages to the RV and the nearby structure are under $15,000. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshalโs office, but the cause of the fire is not seen as suspicious at the time, according to authorities.
The Duluth Fire Department was assisted by St. Louis County/911 dispatch, Minnesota Power, the
American Red Cross, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and the Duluth Police Department.
