One person displaced after RV fire in Duluth

VIDEO: One person was displaced after an RV fire early Wednesday morning in Duluth. According to a representative from the city, the Duluth Fire Department responded to the call of a structure fire in the alley of the 400 block of E Eighth Street.

Crews found an RV fully engulfed. The fire also spread to power lines, nearby, and caused some exterior damage to a nearby structure.

โ€œOne person was sleeping inside the RV at the time and was transported to an area hospital for
evaluation for smoke inhalation,โ€ explained a representative from the city. โ€œThat person was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.โ€

No additional injuries were reported. Officials state that the damages to the RV and the nearby structure are under $15,000. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshalโ€™s office, but the cause of the fire is not seen as suspicious at the time, according to authorities.

The Duluth Fire Department was assisted by St. Louis County/911 dispatch, Minnesota Power, the
American Red Cross, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and the Duluth Police Department.
