One person is dead and another taken to the hospital after a house fire early Saturday morning in Fillmore County. The Sheriffโs Office says it received a 911 call at 3:56 am of a fire in the 13000 block of 111th Avenue in LeRoy. Deputies say a 90-year-old man who was in the home at the time of the fire was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult female was taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for treatment of injuries she suffered from the fire. The names of the two victims have not been released.
The Fillmore County Sheriffโs Office says the Chester Iowa Fire Department, Ostrander Fire Department, Spring Valley Fire Department, Spring Valley Ambulance, Leroy Fire Department, Leroy Ambulance, and Mower County Sheriffโs Office assisted with this blaze.
