Plainfield Township home ‘total loss’ after fire

VIDEO: A Plainfield Township home was a total loss following a fire Saturday morning. Around 4:35 a.m., crews with the Plainfield Township Fire Department were sent to the area of Scott Creek Drive and Samrick Avenue NE after receiving reports about a house on fire.

Responding crews found a fire at the back of the home and called for backup. Crews quickly worked to extinguish the flames. The fire department said the family of four was able to evacuate. No one was hurt. The house is considered a total loss, the fire department said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the fire department said it is believed to have started on the exterior of the home.
