PHOTOS: The Holly Fire Department is welcoming a new member. Chris Knuth will serve as the fire department chaplain. Chief Jeremy Watson announced the new addition during the Village of Holly council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

โ€œChaplain Chris Knuth has joined our department to serve as the fire department chaplain,โ€ Watson said. โ€œChaplain Knuth will be a valuable resource in supporting the mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of our personnel. The role of a chaplain within the emergency services is essential.โ€

Watson said that fire personnel are often put into highly stressful situations and having a chaplain available will help with support.

โ€œOur personnel are often placed in highly stressful and emotionally charged situations from responding to serious accidents to witnessing loss and trauma,โ€ Watson said. โ€œHaving a chaplain available provides our team with an immediate and passionate resource for emotional and spiritual support, not only after difficult calls but also in maintaining ongoing wellness and resilience.โ€
