VIDEO: An early morning fire has swept through the former Swanson Funeral Home building in Flint. Crews were called to the scene on Martin Luther King Avenue around 6:22 a.m. Saturday. Live video from WNEM shows damage to the structure, with much of the building burned out.
The Swanson Funeral Home was shut down in 2017, following controversy over health code violations. The building has remained closed since then. TV5 is working to learn more about what led to the fire and any potential impact on the surrounding area.
