VIDEO: The Garfield Township Volunteer Fire Department’s station suffered significant damage when it caught fire on Wednesday morning. The fire was reported before 9 a.m. on Erickson Road in Garfield Township, southwest of Pinconning in Bay County.
A passerby reported the fire, prompting a quick response from firefighters across the county. The building, along with a few fire trucks, were damaged in the fire. Authorities say no injuries were reported from the incident.
Roads in the area were temporarily closed to allow firefighters to extinguish the flames, but they have since reopened. Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
