Dickinson County First Responder Agencies Use Grant Money for Upgrades

VIDEO: $30,000 in grants are coming to some Dickinson County first responders. At the Felch fire hall, three trucks sit still but ready to go at a momentโ€™s notice.

And soon, when the trucks do leave, fire fighters may have new tools thanks to a grant from Circle Power. Felch Township Fire Chief Brian Anderson says his department is ready for the change. โ€œI just got word last week that weโ€™re going to get a $5,000 grant from Circle Power,โ€ Anderson said. โ€œI was able to share it with some of the guys, but Iโ€™m really excited. Going to be able to knock some equipment off of our wish list.โ€

Circle Power gave First Responder Grants to five agencies across Felch, Norway and Sagola Townships, the three townshipsโ€™ fire departments and two ambulance services in Sagola and Felch. The Felch Township Fire Department hasnโ€™t decided on what to use its portion on, but a thermal imaging device and new radios are top of the list.
