VIDEO: Five Saginaw firefighters faced a tense situation Sunday morning when the floor collapsed beneath them while they worked to put out an abandoned house fire. The fire was reported around 9 a.m. at a vacant residence on South 9th Street.
Fire crews had extinguished most of the fire and were working to put out hot spots when the floor gave way. All five firefighters fell into the basement.
Saginaw Fire Chief Brandon Hausbeck said four of the firefighters escaped injury and one sustained a very minor injury, but returned to duty. Investigators will continue working to determine what sparked the fire.
