Massachusetts firefighters graduate from Firefighting Academy

State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine and Massachusetts Firefighting Academy leadership announced the graduation of 20 firefighters from the 50-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program.

โ€œMassachusetts firefighters are on the frontlines protecting their communities every day, and todayโ€™s graduates are needed now more than ever,โ€ said State Fire Marshal Davine. โ€œThe hundreds of hours of foundational training theyโ€™ve received will provide them with the physical, mental, and technical skills to perform their jobs effectively and safely.โ€

โ€œMassachusetts Firefighting Academy instructors draw on decades of experience in the fire service to train new recruits,โ€ said Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Director JP Seivane. โ€œThrough consistent classroom instruction and practical exercises, todayโ€™s graduates have developed the tools theyโ€™ll need to work seamlessly with veteran firefighters in their home departments and in neighboring communities as mutual aid.โ€
