VIDEO: The Springfield Fire Department emergency communications dispatch graduates flipped their tassels on Tuesday. The graduation ceremony, which took place at the Raymond Sullivan Safety Complex and Emergency Operations Center, highlighted the professionalism, compassion, and sacrifice of the graduates.
Springfield Fire Commissioner BJ Calvi expressed his gratitude towards the new members of his team. “It’s a great achievement for all of these people and their families to graduate from the program. We’re happy to have them as members of the Springfield Fire Department emergency communications division and I hope they have a great career,” he said.
Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno also said in a statement that he thanks the graduates and their families for their commitment to working on the frontlines, helping to enhance the public safety response for both residents and businesses.
