Fire crews tackle large fire at manufacturing facility in Attleboro

Attleboro Fire Department said they battled a fire at a manufacturing facility Saturday morning.

According to fire officials, they responded to 113 Olive St. at around 12:44 a.m. for a report of a fire.

The building is used by a company that manufactures paints, primers and finishers, fire crews said.

Officials said the exterior fire had spread to the inside of the building. Attleboro fire crews said they found โ€œsignificantโ€ fire inside the building and burned through the second floor.

The fire was brought under control in around 25 minutes after an aggressive interior attack, fire officials said.

โ€œThis is a large building with manufacturing operations that require various materials to complete,โ€ said Assistant Chief Dennis Perkins. โ€œThe quick actions of crews stopped this from becoming a much larger incident.โ€

The department also said the wind made it difficult to control the fire. A building inspector and electrical inspector were called to the scene.

The cause remains under investigation, but fire officials said it appears to have began outside.
